Subconscious mind and law of attraction: How to get the law of attraction to work for you

The law of attraction is now a popular concept that a lot of people now understand. But in order to fully grasp the full concept of the law of attraction, you need to understand the relationship between the subconscious mind and law of attraction.

subconscious mind and law of attraction

The conscious mind and the subconscious mind

The conscious mind is the analytical part of your mind. It is the part that is responsible for the gathering of data in your environment. It is also the part of your mind where your thoughts are generated.

This is a part of our mind that can easily be accessed with our conscious thoughts.
The conscious mind is responsible for just about 10% of the workings of your mind.

The subconscious mind — which is sometimes referred to as the unconscious mind — on the other hand, is responsible for the rest (90%) of the functioning of the mind.

Unlike the conscious mind, the subconscious mind cannot be easily accessed and most of the things that reside in our subconscious are not really known to us because they are deep-seated.

The five senses of touch, smell, hearing, sight, and taste are the responsibilities of the subconscious mind.

Also, every memory you’ve ever had, both the memories you can access and the ones you can’t, are all stored in the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is responsible for your reflexes, your breathing, any activity you are mostly not aware of, your immediate reactions to situations, and your emotions.

The bulk of your actions, beliefs, your HABITS and what you decide to focus on daily are directed and orchestrated by your subconscious mind.

Your decisions, your habits, and what you do daily are the things that will shape the course of your life.

The iceberg metaphor

This analogy was first established by Sigmund Freud in an attempt to explain the conscious and the unconscious mind and the way they work.

If you think of an iceberg in the sea, the ice that is seen floating on the surface of the sea is the conscious mind. The majority of the iceberg is beneath the sea and cannot be seen from the surface of the sea.

The majority of the ice that is beneath the sea is the subconscious part of the mind. The subconscious mind is a very powerful mechanism in us that controls our cause and effects and is also beneath our consciousness.

The relationship between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind

At every time of the day, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are constantly working together. So, at this point, we explore the relationship between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

Apart from the analytical functioning of the conscious mind, the conscious mind can also serve as a way to program and imprint the subconscious.

The subconscious mind is powered by our beliefs and our habits. But before our habits and beliefs became that way, they have been repeatedly done over and over again at the conscious level.

What I’m trying to point out is that the conscious is the gateway to the subconscious.

For instance, before the subconscious can accept an idea as a belief, that idea would have been repeatedly contemplated consciously. At the end of the day, if there are proofs supporting that idea due to personal experiences or other people’s, the idea becomes a conviction, and the conviction is handed to the subconscious as a belief.

Also, before the subconscious can accept a behavior as a habit, the behavior would have been constantly repeated on the conscious level. And after a while, the behavior is handed to the subconscious as a habit. That’s when you start doing it without even thinking about it and that’s when you say you are doing it on autopilot.

Examples of situations like this are in everything we do in our lives because we are creatures of habits. If you drive constantly, you become an expert. When you start wearing your left shoe first, instead of the right when you were little, you now do it subconsciously without even knowing you are doing it.

If when you were growing up, all the rich people you knew or heard about were selfish and manipulative, the idea will gradually be taking roots in your subconscious. The belief will be there subconsciously that if you become rich, you will be selfish and manipulative. The belief might not necessarily be true and you might not even know that the belief is there.

This will lead to another important fact about the subconscious and your habits and beliefs. The fact is that the subconscious doesn’t know if a belief or a habit is right or wrong, true or false, good or bad for you.

If I were to summarize what we’ve learned so far;

  • The conscious mind is analytical and it’s the place where thoughts are generated.
  • The subconscious mind is responsible for 90% of the workings of your mind and it is powered by your habits and your beliefs. These are the things that shape the course of your life. So, in effect, the subconscious mind shapes your causes and effects.
  • The subconscious mind doesn’t know if a belief is right or wrong, it accepts it as truth anyway.
  • The conscious mind is the gateway to the subconscious.

The conscious mind and the law of attraction

Before we get into the link between the subconscious mind and the law of attraction, it is important to first discuss the role that the conscious mind plays in the process of attracting what you want.

The conscious mind is not capable of attracting anything into your life.

But, no matter what you want to create in your life, or attract to you, the process starts with your conscious mind.

On any level, no matter the size of it, the process of attraction and creation starts in the conscious mind.

Why? How?

What you attract into your life is asked into your life with your thoughts. Thoughts are conscious, and if you repeat a thought over and over again, your request becomes stronger.

The mistake that some people make is that they just allow their thoughts to roam free moment by moment, unchecked.

This is because with all the conscious thoughts you are having daily, you are constantly asking the universe for stuff.

Although every ask is given (Matt 7:7), not every one of those asks will show up in your life.

It is those requests that are persistent (those thoughts that are predominant), and because of their persistence on the conscious level, have found their way into your subconscious mind, and have been transformed into beliefs and habits, that manifests in your life and you see physically in your life.

“Every man is what he is because of the dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his mind.”-Napoleon Hill

The subconscious mind and law of attraction

I know you have probably heard it somewhere before that the subconscious mind is responsible for anything and everything that shows up in your life, right?

Well, that statement is 110% true.

It is your subconscious mind that manifests everything in your life. So, it is accurate to say that everything that is in your life, be it your relationships, your health, or your finances, are all a reflection of your subconscious mind.

If you want to know what’s going on in your subconscious, take a look at your results and the life you’ve created for yourself.

How does this work you might still be wondering?

It is quite simple and I don’t want you to think about it from a spiritual or esoteric point of view, I want you to think about it from a realistic point of view.

When they say that the subconscious mind is the attractor in your life, what this simply means — as I’ve been trying to make you understand from the beginning of this post — is that; what determines your results are your thoughts, your beliefs, and your habits.

It is those things you do automatically daily and your beliefs about those situations that determine what you DECIDE to focus on.

And life is nothing but a series of DECISIONS just as Anthony Robbins rightly pointed out in his book Awaken the Giant Within.

It is from these DECISIONS we make that ACTIONS flow from, and it is these actions that determine how our lives would turn out.

For instance, the lad that decides earlier on in life to stay in school and get a formal education will have a different life to the lad that flunked school and didn’t decide to get any form of education.

Bill Gates decided that building his business was more important than wasting his time in College to get an education and we all know how that turned out.

But Bill Gates, the lad that stayed in college, and the lad that flunked out of school didn’t just make these decisions on the fly. They made them based on their BELIEFS and their HABITS.

As you know by now, the subconscious mind is the home of ALL your BELIEFS and HABITS.

The power of powerful habits

The happy, the unhappy, the successful, the unsuccessful, are all separated by their habits. This stands to reason because human beings are creatures of habits.

The brain is designed to store patterns in the subconscious so that whenever there is a cue, or a trigger, for that particular scenario, the brain goes into autopilot mode. This is accomplished through the use of neural pathways.

The reason why the brain is wired this way is so that every time you need to do anything, it won’t have to recall every minute detail of the task or activity or event.

Everybody attracts things all the time. It’s just that the majority of people attract more of what they don’t want, and what they didn’t intentionally CREATE because the law of attraction is always in motion and it is always working.

The difference between the deliberate creators and the drifters is their habits.

For instance, regardless of whether you know about the law of attraction or not, if you DECIDE to lose weight, and you start imbibing the HABITS of eating healthy and exercising regularly, if you stick to these HABITS, you MUST lose some pounds. As opposed to the person that has read every book on the law of attraction, and also wants to lose weight, but, still have the HABITS of eating junks all the time, NOT exercising at all, and keeps living a sedentary life.

All the affirmations in this world will not help someone that is not changing his/her habits to align with those affirmations he/she keeps repeating.

It is only by repetitive action at the conscious level that an idea gets accepted by your subconscious mind.

All the achievements of any man, either mediocre or grandiose, can LITERALLY be traced back to his habits.

Let’s look at the examples of successful athletes; they always have the habit of training harder than their mediocre counterparts. Ask most of them about the law of attraction, and their reply would be that they have no idea what it is. Yet, these people are constantly sending out powerful messages and signals to the universe through their daily powerful habits.

And what does the universe do in return?

Well, it replies in Ballon d’Ors and multimillion-dollar endorsement deals.

The brain, the subconscious mind, and the habit generator

Now that you know the importance of powerful habits, I would be doing you a disservice if I don’t tell you that it is somewhat difficult to develop some of these habits.

The ability to access the subconscious mind from the conscious is somehow difficult. And because habits are generated in the subconscious, it is difficult to pick up new good habits and dump old ones.

In the brain, neural pathways map out behaviors and habits. If a habit has been formed, then the neural pathway to that habit would have been established.

To abandon this established neural pathway will lead to some resistance from the brain. This resistance is there to try to get you back to your old patterns.

The same thing goes for beliefs that have been rooted deep into your subconscious. To change these beliefs that have formed over a long duration will also require a lot of conscious effort.

With time, if the effort is sustained, any belief, any habit can be changed.

This is where most people get stuck and start moving in reverse.

They keep doing everything they THINK they are supposed to be doing consciously but find that their results are not aligned with their efforts.

This type of person keeps taking a foot forward, and three feet backward because the brain will always come up with different ways to SABOTAGE conscious efforts that are not aligned with beliefs and habits rooted in the subconscious.

The implications of this are either this individual doesn’t take any form of action at all, or he/she keeps taking the wrong kind of action, or he/she keeps sabotaging himself/herself whenever he/she is close to the finish line.

Is there a way to rewire the brain and reprogram the subconscious mind for success so as to attract whatever you want?

I was exactly like the person just described above.

For more than six years, I wanted to attract money, so I kept thinking positively about money, kept working hard, but money was still not coming into my life.

Back then, I was a “hungry” day trader and was trying to conquer the trading world. Stock, Forex, Betfair, Betdaq, I was CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY grinding at my PC for more than six years. But for some reason, as I kept learning new systems of trading, I kept losing money CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY all the time.

Due to my knowledge of the law of attraction and its relationship with the subconscious mind, I knew that my results were exactly what I was attracting. The problem was not in the ‘know-how’ of trading, the problem was something internal; it was something deep in my subconscious mind.

I had so many messed up beliefs about money that had been programmed into my brain right from childhood.

Some examples of those beliefs I had growing up were; “I am still too young to be rich”, “If I become rich, I wouldn’t be safe anymore and I would always be getting robbed”, “Rich people are not nice, so nice people like me can NEVER be rich”, and a whole lot more.

Accompanying habits with these beliefs were; “Always looking for the next get rich quick trading system”, “Not sticking with a trading system long enough to master it”, “Making impulsive trading decisions even when every fiber of my being knew it’s the wrong move”, “gambling instead of trading”, and I could go on and on about all the damaging habits I had then.

So, I knew that if I didn’t change these beliefs and habits subconsciously, I would be stuck in this vicious cycle of failure forever.

My entire life changed one hot, sunny afternoon after a frustrating trading session. I was sent an email from a website that recommended that I attend the annual brain-a-thon webinar of a company known as neurogym owned by the renowned John Assaraf, who was featured in the popular movie, the secret.

First, I was skeptical, but since I had nothing better to do at that time, I DECIDED to watch the webinar. So, I opted in, I watched the whole webinar, and it was like John had been living with me all this while. Everything he was saying in the webinar was about me, it resonated so much with me, it felt like the webinar was made specifically for me.

Immediately after the webinar, I purchased their ‘winning the game of money’ product.

I HAD FINALLY found what I was looking for, for the past six years.

This product CHANGED EVERYTHING for me.

Until now, the access to the subconscious mind had always been hard for individuals like me with a lot of disempowering beliefs, programmed in their subconscious mind.

But due to the advancement in neuroscience, it is now easier than ever to access your subconscious mind and reprogram it for success with this program.

The program is designed by experts in the neuroscience field, and they came up with something called innercising.

Innercising is very easy and comfortable to do daily. It will LITERALLY rewire your brain by upgrading it and creating new neural pathways that will allow you to have empowering habits easily and become successful as a result.

After the first month of using the program, I was seeing where I was sabotaging myself, and as a result of this, I could better understand what I was supposed to do to turn the situation around.

By my second month of using the program, I was an entirely new person; I was happier, more positive, more creative, and I had taken my trading to a whole new level. I was calmer with my trading, more calculative, no more impulsive, and I was not chasing losses anymore.

I was now raking in the big bucks and the funniest thing was that I was still using the trading systems I was using before. The difference this time was that I was innercising daily, and I was growing these new powerful habits subconsciously every day.

I share this story with you not to brag, not for you to validate me, not to get you to buy the winning the game of money program, but I share this story with you so that you know where I was coming from.

I share this story with you to consolidate the whole point of this post. I share this story with you to consolidate the link between the subconscious mind and the law of attraction.

Final words

If I were to sum the law of attraction up in a simple form, I would ask you these three questions;

What are your thoughts?

What are your beliefs?

And, what are your habits?

These are the indicators of what you are attracting into your life.

You need not look far beyond.
